Introduction to Award Ceremony 2014

Is the scholarship program a success?  ABSOLUTELY!  This year $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to our previous winners who have maintained high grade point averages (all over 3.00 GPAs) and who are progressing in their college careers AND to our newest winner, Sallita Singh, who has brought delight not only to her parents and teachers, but to her classmates as well. Two of our previous winners, Ron Josias and Andrew McGibbon are working on either special projects or as an employee of a major corporation.  In total, $7,000 was awarded this year and a summary of the progress of these students is listed under the new link Accomplishments. This year the committee members have also embarked on a dedicated mentoring program to offer assistance and support to each of the award winners as they proceed in their college studies.

Nancy Sieffert, the fund’s treasurer, again wrote a summary of the events of the awards ceremony.   Check out Nancy’s comments under Summary 2014.

Want to get the feeling you are right there at the ceremony?  Check out the two videos of the 2014 stage presentations, beginning with Marty Jacobs, the committee’s chairperson, making the introductions.  See the Videos 2014 Class for Part One and Part Two.

Photographs of the committee members with the newest recipient, Sallita, can be accessed with the link Photos 2014.  As information, after the ceremony the committee invites past winners and the current winner if available, to celebrate with an informal luncheon hosted by committee members.
